Just a very quick email to say thank you so much for everything during our weekend at the Milkshed. We had the most fantastic time and loved the property and the area! We enjoyed trips to Bicton Park and the Donkey Sanctuary (my daughter has adopted a donkey now!). Beaches were lovely too.

Check-in was a breeze - Katie was extremely responsive. Everything about The Milkshed screams quality, from the hot tub to the fixtures and fittings. They even had some toys, which our three year old appreciated! Lovely spot - a short drive to Honiton or Sidmouth, both great for a stroll or bite to eat. We may well be back in the Summer! What can we say to do this place justice? This has been our third stay at The Milkshed after having stayed here for our honeymoon in 2018, our first holiday as a family of three in 2020 and now our first holiday as a family of four. I think it's fair to say that The Milkshed is our special place and a real home from home for us. After the busiest period of work we've ever experienced, whilst raising two young children, our week's stay here is exactly what we've needed, and we'll be returning home completely relaxed and refreshed. Katie and Mark are wonderful hosts who are always most welcoming and friendly. The accommodation is so homely and the grounds perfect for a relaxing wander. This has been our second fantastic trip to The Milkshed - the first one in 2018 when we only had one two-year old in tow! This time we came with two boys! Needless to say, we have had a fabulous week once again, The Milkshed even better than last time. The boys loved looking for fossils in Lyme Regis and Charmouth, but their favourite part was exploring the beautiful gardens back here at the barn (and the hot tub!). We will be back again, for sure! As soon as we left our honeymoon at The Milkshed back in August 2018 we began to plan our return visit. And what a wonderful second stay we have had! Being our first holiday as a family of three this stay has felt just as special and The Milkshed now feels like a home from home for us. Katie and Mark are such a lovely couple and wonderful hosts, always going above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. Of course we just had to take advantage of the catering options available to us and enjoyed a delicious brunch and chef's table dinner to celebrate my birthday. Both were exceptional (Mark is a culinary genius!) and really made our stay that extra bit special and luxurious. We also really enjoyed taking little man for a walk around the grounds in the evening, showing him the chickens and the ducks before putting him to bed and enjoying a relaxing dip in the hot tub afterwards! What a little gem! Fabulous last minute find! We stayed at The Milkshed for our Silver wedding anniversary after Cape Verde was cancelled. It was perfect from when we arrived! Enjoyed the guest surroundings, drank wine, watched the stars and enjoyed the hot tub. Went to Sidmouth for the day which was lovely, weather fab so enjoyed the pond at The Milkshed with a good book and wine. What an amazing holiday we have had at The Milkshed. Our boys really didn't want to leave. We have loved exploring in the meadow, running around the lake after the ducks and swinging in the tree. We loved this place! In fact, during our delicious three-course meal, prepared by Mark, we planned our return visit. It really is a home from home and has been the perfect spot for our first family holiday with our six month old son. Freddie adored trips to the pond to see the ducks (and on our last day a new set of ducklings) plus the swing under the trees. The Milkshed is beautifully decorated giving it a sense of luxury. Lots of extras included to make the stay comfortable - we didn't have to bring much at all! What an amazing first half of our honeymoon! The Milkshed is perfect! Everything has been thought about in such detail, we really felt at home in this ideal cottage. Lovely stay, dinner on arrival was very yummy and great after a very long trip. Afternoon tea was equally as yummy. My husband enjoyed the shooting - not sure he hit that many! We stayed for two weeks in The Milkshed. Beforehand, we thought that would be too long.. unfortunately it wouldn't. There is so much to do here that we still don't want to leave this beautiful place. Wow! Where to start! We arrived on Friday afternoon to this beautiful place and were greeted with homemade chocolate tarts and a bottle of bubbly on ice. Mark greeted us and informed us he had been stoking the hot tub fire so it was ready to use shortly after we arrived. The hot tub was lovely, the setting and surroundings were beautiful and the hosts were just great. Can't wait to come back and see you both again. Wow, what can we say? Such an amazing place to come and stay with our two boys. Having the freedom to come and run around the farm, talk to the chickens and splash in muddy puddles! We have just returned to Australia after spending our final holiday week in The Milkshed - one of the best holiday houses that we have stayed in. Katie and Mark have done such a good job in renovating and decorating the property and were both very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The house contained just about everything we needed to have an enjoyable and comfortable week. The kitchen was incredibly well equipped and we particularly appreciated the Nespresso coffee machine. A bottle of wine and a still warm from the oven banana cake greeted us on arrival, especially welcome after a long journey. It was so lovely to be able to wander around the lake in the evenings and we wish Katie and Mark all the best with their plans for the area. July 2016

Our third stay at The Milkshed was just as wonderful as our previous visits. The property is immaculate and equipped with everything you could need. We had a fantastic holiday at the Milkshed. The property is spacious, well equipped and extremely comfortable. The food was excellent and was a wonderful way to end a lovely day in this beautiful region of England. We were fortunate to have a week of sunshine and I also enjoyed the clear skies at night as it was lovely to see the stars / Milky Way without the effects of light pollution. There are numerous National Trust properties in the region and we particularly enjoyed Knightshayes and Killerton. There is also an abundance of cracking coastal and country walks to do. All in all I would highly recommend this property and will make an exception to my rule of never visiting the same property twice. On my next visit I might treat myself to Mark's Tasting Menu. The Milkshed has been built and furnished to a high standard. We were made to feel welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We found the following attractions the best: Woolacombe in the North for the best beach (dog friendly). The Donkey Sanctuary. Lulworth Cove/Durdle Door. The location is ideal for both countryside and coast, and the local walks were carpeted by bluebells when we were there. We were made to feel very welcome and really appreciated the scones, jam and clotted cream, free range eggs and flowers which were waiting for us when we arrived. The meal Mark cooked for us was superb and we highly recommend that you take advantage of this unusual facility for self catering properties. A lovely warm welcome from Mark, Katie and family. Fresh flowers, eggs, milk ,tea, coffee, spring water, and a devon cream tea on arrival was greatly appreciated. The accommodation was 5 star. Immaculately clean, well presented, quality fittings and attention to detail. Settee was very comfy as were the beds with quality duvets and pillows - a good nights sleep guaranteed. This has been our third stay at The Milkshed after having stayed here for our honeymoon in 2018, our first holiday as a family of three in 2020 and now our first holiday as a family of four. I think it's fair to say that The Milkshed is our special place and a real home from home for us. This has been our second fantastic trip to The Milkshed - the first one in 2018 when we only had one two-year old in tow! This time we came with two boys! As soon as we left our honeymoon at The Milkshed back in August 2018 we began to plan our return visit. And what a wonderful second stay we have had! Being our first holiday as a family of three this stay has felt just as special and The Milkshed now feels like a home from home for us. Katie and Mark are such a lovely couple and wonderful hosts, always going above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. Of course we just had to take advantage of the catering options available to us and enjoyed a delicious brunch and chef's table dinner to celebrate my birthday. Both were exceptional (Mark is a culinary genius!) and really made our stay that extra bit special and luxurious. We also really enjoyed taking little man for a walk around the grounds in the evening, showing him the chickens and the ducks before putting him to bed and enjoying a relaxing dip in the hot tub afterwards! We decided to rebook for Christmas while we were here for our Summer holiday! We are so pleased we did! The Milkshed was the perfect setting for our family Christmas dinner, with family members joining us for the day who lived about 20 min drive. Such a lovely house! We had a very welcoming house with our delicious brownies and fresh milk from the local cows! The hot tub was a massive bonus. Such cute nearby towns and make sure to check out the Otter Valley ice cream. Our overall highlight was Hounds Tor and the tram ride in Seaton. October 2019
We have had an amazing time here, looking for the baby ducks in the morning to relaxing in the hot tub under the stars in the evening. The location is perfect for exploring and everything you could want has been provided by Katie and Mark. Thank you for a fantastic week! We relaxed completely helped by the beautiful location, The Milkshed and the fabulous hot tub. We loved this place! In fact, during our delicious three-course meal, prepared by Mark, we planned our return visit. It really is a home from home and has been the perfect spot for our first family holiday with our six month old son. Freddie adored trips to the pond to see the ducks (and on our last day a new set of ducklings) plus the swing under the trees. The Milkshed is beautifully decorated giving it a sense of luxury. Lots of extras included to make the stay comfortable - we didn't have to bring much at all! We loved the scones on arrival and the hot tub complete with countryside views to enjoy at the end of the day. See you soon! June 2019

Another very relaxing week at The Milkshed, thank you very much. This was our fifth visit and we can't wait to come back next year. We loved the fresh scones on arrival, this was a real treat after a long drive. This Milkshed is very much a home from home. What a wonderful stay we have had here at The Milkshed! The warmest Easter the UK has had in years and we were fortunate enough to spend it here. Such beautiful accommodation and grounds. We honestly couldn't have wished for better. The amount of love and care that has gone into restoring The Milkshed is very apparent. What an amazing first half of our honeymoon! The Milkshed is perfect! Everything has been thought about in such detail, we really felt at home in this ideal cottage. Katie and Mark are such lovely people and really made us feel welcome. The afternoon tea that Katie arranged for us on arrival was delicious and the meal that Mark cooked was just exquisite. Lovely stay, dinner on arrival was very yummy and great after a very long trip. Afternoon tea was equally as yummy. My husband enjoyed the shooting - not sure he hit that many! The kids loved the hot tub - heated one night and still good the next. We loved it so much that we booked next year and we have never done that before. August 2018
We stayed for two weeks in The Milkshed. Beforehand, we thought that would be too long.. unfortunately it wouldn't. There is so much to do here that we still don't want to leave this beautiful place. We stayed here with our two-year old son. He loved all the toys and especially all the nice books to look at and didn't touch his own toys. We celebrated our ten year wedding anniversary. Wow! Where to start! We arrived on Friday afternoon to this beautiful place and were greeted with homemade chocolate tarts and a bottle of bubbly on ice. Mark greeted us and informed us he had been stoking the hot tub fire so it was ready to use shortly after we arrived. The hot tub was lovely, the setting and surroundings were beautiful and the hosts were just great. Can't wait to come back and see you both again. Wow, what can we say? Such an amazing place to come and stay with our two boys. Having the freedom to come and run around the farm, talk to the chickens and splash in muddy puddles! The tasting menu was absolutely amazing - the perfect Valentine's Day meal. Possibly the best combination of food I've ever had. Katie and Mark are the perfect hosts, from booking to departing. We are all so sad to be leaving back to London but we will be returning next year for sure! February 2018

We have just returned to Australia after spending our final holiday week in The Milkshed - one of the best holiday houses that we have stayed in. Katie and Mark have done such a good job in renovating and decorating the property and were both very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The house contained just about everything we needed to have an enjoyable and comfortable week. The kitchen was incredibly well equipped and we particularly appreciated the Nespresso coffee machine. A bottle of wine and a still warm from the oven banana cake greeted us on arrival, especially welcome after a long journey. It was so lovely to be able to wander around the lake in the evenings and we wish Katie and Mark all the best with their plans for the area. July 2016

Our third stay at The Milkshed was just as wonderful as our previous visits. The property is immaculate and equipped with everything you could need. Location is great too, whilst feeling like you're in the middle of nowhere you are just a short drive to local amenities and local beaches. We will most certainly be returning for a fourth visit! We chose The Milkshed as part of our DIY elopement/runaway wedding plan and it was absolutely the perfect space for us. We had a fantastic holiday at the Milkshed. The property is spacious, well equipped and extremely comfortable. The food was excellent and was a wonderful way to end a lovely day in this beautiful region of England. We were fortunate to have a week of sunshine and I also enjoyed the clear skies at night as it was lovely to see the stars / Milky Way without the effects of light pollution. There are numerous National Trust properties in the region and we particularly enjoyed Knightshayes and Killerton. There is also an abundance of cracking coastal and country walks to do. All in all I would highly recommend this property and will make an exception to my rule of never visiting the same property twice. On my next visit I might treat myself to Mark's Tasting Menu. The Milkshed has been built and furnished to a high standard. We were made to feel welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We found the following attractions the best: Woolacombe in the North for the best beach (dog friendly). The Donkey Sanctuary. Lulworth Cove/Durdle Door. The location is ideal for both countryside and coast, and the local walks were carpeted by bluebells when we were there. We were made to feel very welcome and really appreciated the scones, jam and clotted cream, free range eggs and flowers which were waiting for us when we arrived. The meal Mark cooked for us was superb and we highly recommend that you take advantage of this unusual facility for self catering properties. In fact, we highly recommend the Milkshed to anyone who appreciates quality! May 2015
A lovely warm welcome from Mark, Katie and family. Fresh flowers, eggs, milk ,tea, coffee, spring water, and a devon cream tea on arrival was greatly appreciated. The accommodation was 5 star. Immaculately clean, well presented, quality fittings and attention to detail. Settee was very comfy as were the beds with quality duvets and pillows - a good nights sleep guaranteed. The underfloor heating a real luxury. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. We will be back! April 2015

It is recently converted and is beautifully presented with everything you could possibly need for your stay, even a picnic rug and a bucket and spade for the beach!
